Transitional Class
This is for our younger group of kiddos that are transitioning into our regular preschool classroom. The ratio of this classroom is 6-1 and gives the children an opportunity to grow and learn at their own pace. This classroom has a more flexible schedule with half days as an option. Toilet training also takes place in our transitional classroom as well. In our transitional classroom, the children get to explore and learn with hands-on experiences. Our toy selected is specifically chosen to allow the children to use their imagination and have an open-ended play. Getting messy and exploring is a must in this classroom.
Preschool Threes
In our three year old class the children are starting to become more independent in their classroom. Circle time is a fun time the children get to learn about the days of the week, the weather, the letter of the week and sing songs to get familiar with the letters in their names. Our threes program is all about learning thru play. Songs about colors, numbers and shapes help them to remember and make associations as they are learning. This class introduces tracing as well as number and letter recognition. Music and movement is part of their daily routine. Art projects are incorporated with their theme of the week. Children get a chance to express themselves in all aspects. Learning thru play and exploration is what our threes program is all about. This program is offered 2,3 or 5 days a week.
Preschool Fours
Our fun fours are getting ready for kindergarten! This class helps our students focus on their individual needs. They are learning how to use scissors, hold a pencil correctly and write their names! This class gives the children the opportunity to use their imagination with our open-ended toys and stations. We allow the children to work on activities at their own pace. Every day is a chance for them to learn and grow. Our fours program offers children the chance to learning thru a fun curriculum that keeps them engaged and wanting more. Circle time is a great time for our children to connect with each other and their teachers. This is where stories are read, the calendar is worked on and the children get to help “run the class” with our special helpers!
Junior Kindergarden
Junior Kindergarten is a five-day-a-week program. This class has a small ratio of twelve children to one teacher. Children must be turning 5 in the school calendar (Aug-May) or already 5. In this class, children will be learning to count and write to 20. Children will learn how to write their names with one capital letter and the rest lowercase. They will begin learning how to read and those who are ready will continue to reading groups to advance their reading. They will learn the sounds of all the letters as well as learning sight words. Music and movement will continue to be a part of their curriculum as well as art. Hands-on learning is always important at this age and making school a fun place to be. Our Junior Kinders will graduate the first week of June. By the end of the year, children would then be able to go into regular kinder or straight to first grade.
